Back in March I photographed three pieces of artwork (below), two of which were “unfinished.” To read about the two pieces on the left, see this piece called Unfinished…and Eternity
I’m going to talk more about the Asters painting on the right, in this blog piece.
I started this painting toward the end of my time in Alabama, during the last stages of my divorce process fall of 2019.
I clearly remember what I was doing when I began this piece, and thinking I could/would finish it around that same time. I was watching a movie (specifically “When Harry Met Sally“) with my dear, elderly Alabama neighbor Hellen, and was painting this on the coffee table in front of us. I often remember original artwork by what I was listening to/watching (podcasts, audiobooks, movies, music) at the time I created the piece!
What you see above was basically done that night…maybe we even watched more than one movie together…I cannot recall for certain.
The piece remained untouched (but never far from my sight in my studio work spaces) until March of 2024.
That is nearly five whole years.
I took the piece to Delaware back in March when I stayed several days to help care for a friend’s husband that is in failing health, while she took a needed trip away. I completed the painting there, in between watching movies with him and preparing meals.
This original painting is for sale. And I sure do need to sell my artwork! Every sale helps me move forward in this post-divorce recovery situation.
The painting is acrylic on canvas and measures 16 x 20 inches. The price is $250, including shipping.
There are also derivative prints/cards available for sale on Etsy. I will put each image below with the link to purchase.
