Wedding Event Painting

Live event painting is a wonderful way to capture the atmosphere and memories of your special event, whether it be a Wedding Reception or Ceremony, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Sweet 16 Party, Family Reunion or any other special occasion!  Paintings are done on canvas with acrylic paint and are sure to become a cherished keepsake.  My style has the feel of folk art with a spontaneous and somewhat impressionistic look; yet I also try to accurately capture certain details of the venue and event.  I do well with architecture and outdoor landscape.

Some faces may be left blank and some finished off more.  I will plan to arrive early and start working on an “underpainting” and then work live throughout the event, which is also great entertainment for your guests who will certainly be curious to watch the painting unfold on my easel!  Usually the painting will need to be completed at home using reference photos.

I can discuss my painting process more by phone if you are interested in knowing how much of the painting you can expect to see completed during the actual event. I am located in Pennsylvania but I am also willing to travel to other locations upon request.   Travel fees apply for regions beyond 2.5 hours by car.   Package pricing is listed at bottom of page, below images.

Types of Events: Weddings, Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah’s, Family Reunions, Sweet 16, Corporate  and Community Events.

As an artist, my first goal is not necessarily an “art product.” A wedding is one of the most beautiful, joyful and sacred events that one’s family and friends can share. When I am honored to be hired as an event painter, I desire to connect with the bride and groom, their parents and family, and the guests.

Many artists can do a post-wedding painting in their studio, but being included in the before, during and after stages of doing a live wedding event painting is of particular personal joy. There is an immersive quality in the wedding painting events I remember most fondly–and it is this quality of good-fit, synergistic relationship at the events I have done that has contributed to the outcome of the painting! Simply put, I consider it an opportunity for my artistic gifts/artistic eye/sensitive nature to merge well within the particular feel of your wedding. My ability to casually and spontaneously interact with guests as I simultaneously paint is what makes this fun–not only for me, but for your guests who are making their mingling rounds during the various reception activities.

The above YouTube was created from various still photos and videos from a wedding in June of 2022. (I am new to stringing such videos together, so bear with me in how I did this one!) My goal was to give an up-close look at how I experienced this wedding and the artwork creation before, during and after. And, I want to give any bride who is considering hiring me at the Moonstone Manor a glimpse into what I might offer in services and personal, artistic flavor–what I bring to the table, so-to-speak.

Selecting the right wedding event painter (for both your venue and your celebration) is important, and I thank you for considering me! Please always feel free to ask detailed questions before, during and after your event.

Wedding Event Paintings are available in acrylic on canvas when live event painting;
post-wedding paintings from photos may be done in watercolor or other mediums upon request.
